I don't understand why this is taking all day when it's really not bringing much content or really any changes lol we've had way bigger patches not take an entire day Comment by Cribble2k on T11:31:04-05:00 Then again we require testing and validation on our patches and haven't had a serious bug go live in years. You don't schedule change windows during high use hours, that's insane.
Then, if it only takes 3 hours, everybody is happy, and if it takes 8 hours, then it's expected based on the announcement.īut it's finally a patch day again tomorrow - here goes nothing! Comment by Funxion on T11:09:15-05:00Īs an IT worker who regularly has to work weekends and nights to perform maintenance during windows that are convenient for the customer not the engineer this is absurd. Add on any chance that the maintenance goes long, even 1 or 2 hours, and you have servers coming online at peak login and playing time, makes for a scary situation for server stabilities.īut maybe they have learned that it's better to just say that maintenance will take a full business day, instead of saying that it will take 3 hours.then an update of 2 hours longer.then an hour longer.then another 2 hours. I sure hope no one planned to raid that day! We already know that stuff will break. It also sucks for players in AUS, it's the middle of AUS prime time. While maintenance at night is nice for the players it probably really sucks for their engineers. Last big maintenance was some kind of big special infrastructure thing. There goes are middle of the night maintenance.
